We are planning to use 'stop motion' for the wind up doll scenes and the puppet scenes. We plan to do this to make them contrast with the upbeat vibrant party scenes and to make them seem older. We got the inspiration to use stop motion from music video's such as:

Oren Lavie- Her morning elegance
Stop motion is used throughout this video and creates a unique and artistic video. The stop motion images of the girl walking across the bed are particularly effective, and we hope to be able to create an effective stop motion scene like the ones that are demonstrated within this video.

We also took inspiration from the stop motion used in Kate Nash's 'Foundations' video.
Within the video there is a mix of stop motion and actual filmed footage. We really liked this idea, so have decided use the same idea within our video. We are only going to use stop motion for the puppets, because we feel it will show a contrast between them and the party scenes.

With this inspiration in mind, I carried out a quick stop motion experiment to see how easy it would be to achieve the desired effect:

From carrying out this research, I have realised that to make the stop motion look effective, you have to ensure that you hold the camera in exactly the same position for all of the shots. It is evident that I have not always done this in the video above, which is probably because I only used a phone camera rather than a digital SLR. In the real music video, we will ensure that we use a digital SLR camera and place it on a tripod to make sure that it remains in the same position.
This research has proved benefitial and will hopefully allow me to make the stop motion in the music video look more effective.
